MONEY MONEY HOME SPREADS ITS WINGS TO THE COMMUNITIES OF SUNWAY CITY WITH THE PRESENCE OF CELEBRITY HOSTS

Over thousand families enjoyed a day filled with great entertainment, learn-through-play workshops and artisanal food bazaar at the Money Money Home Family Day, recently held at Sunway GEO Avenue, Sunway City.
In line with SDG 4, Quality Education, Sunway Property has been committed in exploring ways to engage families and students in educational initiatives while promoting lifelong learning opportunities. Working together with Sunway GEO Avenue and their partners, this inaugural family day is an outreach event of Money Money Home, a well-known edutainment TV series on Astro AEC that makes financial literacy engaging and relevant to the public.
Sunway Property received support from Sunway Group’s other business units for their involvement to be a part of Kravve’s 60 booths. Kravve is Malaysia’s fastest growing online marketplace for homemade food and snacks. In just 6 months, Kravve has grown from zero to more than160 sellers and 300 homemade products. It is a platform to allow individual homemade entrepreneurs to easily sell and manage their sales online. Sunway Medical Centre provided a free health screening booth, Sunway University provided courses consultation services, and Sunway Lagoon supported with a promotional themed van with an appearance by their mascots – Captain and LadyQuack.
The main hosts from Money Money Home, Gan Jiang Han and Liew Yuan Yuan took center stage with their witty banter to emphasise the importance of cultivating positive financial values in children at a young age.
The event attracted almost 1,000 families with a majority of families with kids aged 5 to 12 years old. Families were able to participate in a series of experiential workshops, including Smart Money $ense board game by LifeEquip, Get Your Dollar Sense Workshop by Value Investing College (VIC) and I’m a Little CEO by CITYPlus FM and Kravve. It enlightened both kids and parents with essential financial concepts and skills which are not often taught at schooland home. They were also entertained by a music showcase performed by talented children from the Opus Music Academy as well as artistes from Astro Xiao Tai Yang, a children edutainment TV channel.
As the key highlight of the family day, Money Money Home treasure hunt saw 22 families consisting parents and kids aged 7 to 12 years old, strategising their expedition to accumulate wealth through seven challenges which put their financial literacy to the test. Five winning families with the most “cash flow” generated took home fabulous prizes sponsored by Sunway Property, including Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat package worth RM2,000 and Sunway Lagoon passes worth RM660. Two families who practiced the right saving habit were acknowledged with special prizes.
