December 21, 2021 - Master community developer Sunway Property was recognized for the 19th consecutive year at The Edge Property Excellence Awards 2021.

The Property Developer was named one of the country’s Top 10 developers at the recent awards ceremony at Shang-Ri La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 14 Dec 2021. YB Dato’ Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, Housing and Local Government Minister presented the awards to Sunway Property Central Region Executive Director Chong Sau Min.

The Edge Top Property Developers Awards ranks the best property players – based on their quantitative (shareholders’ funds, revenue, profit before tax and net gearing) and qualitative attributes (quality of product, innovation and creativity, value creation for buyers, brand – market perception and expertise).

“We are privileged to have been acknowledged as one of the top 10 property developers for the 19th consecutive year. This award is dedicated to all Sunway Property employees for their dedication and hard work despite challenging times as well as our communities who supported us throughout the years. The acknowledgement from the esteemed judges which comprise of industry leaders helps benchmark our performance against the best of the best in the real estate industry and provides us an impetus to improve,” said Sarena Cheah, Managing Director of Sunway Property.

The qualitative attributes were evaluate by nine-member panel comprising Dato' Soam Heng Choon, REHDA Malaysia president, Datuk Seri Fateh Iskandar, REHDA Malaysia Immediate past president and past presidents Tan Sri Datuk Eddy Chen Lok Loi, Datuk Seri Michael Yam Kong Choy, Dato' Jeffrey Ng Tiong Lip, as well as FIABCI Malaysia's past presidents Kumar Tharmalingam and Tan Sri Dato' Teo Chiang Kok, Dato' Ho Kay Tat, The Edge Media Group publisher and group CEO as well as joint judges Jacqui Chan, Acting editor of City & Country and Au Foong Yee, EdgeProp.my managing director and editor-in-chief. The results of the ranking exercise were audited by Deloitte Malaysia.
