Sunway Berhad has yet again clinched the Best In Qualitative Attributes Award and won the Top 10 Property Developers Awards in The Edge Property Excellence Awards 2016. The Edge Malaysia Property Excellence Awards, one of the country’s most authoritative real-estate awards, recognises Malaysia’s top property players – from a consumer’s perspective.

Sunway Berhad had previously won first place in 2014 as The Best in Qualitative Attributes, in addition to The Edge-PAM Green Excellence Award 2014 for The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat. Looking back at 2015, we were also ranked first for The Edge Top Property Developers Awards (TPDA) 2015 and the Best in Qualitative Attributes for that year.

Sunway Berhad’s continuous success in the qualitative attributes category can be attributed to the visionary leadership of Sunway Group’s founder and chairman, Tan Sri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah, who has grown Sunway Group from a humble tin-mining company in 1974 to become a property-construction powerhouse with businesses in more than 40 locations worldwide and total assets exceeding RM7 billion.

Alongside Tan Sri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah’s guidance and under the inspiring leadership of Sunway Property’s Managing Director, Sarena Cheah, Sunway City is the first township in the country to be acknowledged for the Outstanding Property Project award. Spanning 800 acres, the RM11 billion flagship city is an engineering tour de force, and Malaysia’s first GBI certified sustainable township. At present, Sunway City stands as an iconic symbol for human endeavour, innovation and forwardness, a far cry from the tin-mining wasteland that is when it all began.

Beyond the economic success that Sunway City drives for the nation, the township in itself is our biggest success story as it is a reflection of our pledge as a Master Community Developer, who has an unfailing commitment to its communities through its unique business model – Build, Own, Operate.
