January & February – Warmest as One, with Sunway Property

In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations, Sunway Property launched its first campaign of the year, “Warmest as One, with Sunway Property”, featuring a unique 100 bliss blanket or ‘bai jia bei’. 100 individual pieces of cloth were collected from various Sunway business units to be sewn together into one patchwork quilt, symbolising the coming together of all Malaysians for a better future post-pandemic as well as Sunway Property’s renewed resolve to strengthen its Master Community Developer proposition to bring its communities even closer together.

In addition, Sunway Property launched its Warmest Prosperity Deals campaign to showcase Sunway Property’s new and ongoing projects and at the same time offer attractive promotional sales packages, while generating market attention by exciting customers. To welcome the Year of the Tiger together “as One”, Sunway Property Sales Galleries created nothing short of a vibrant and festive ambience with numerous CNY events for their customers throughout the month of January. An array of activities took place, from CNY lucky dips; to Mystery CNY Gifts; lion dance performances; tarot card readings; dough dolls and Chinese calligraphy giveaways; and complimentary handcrafted boba tea. The events also aimed at improving the number of walk-in customers and creating awareness for some of the projects’ new tower launches.

Participating projects in the Klang Valley consisted of Sunway Artessa, Sunway Belfield, Sunway d’hill Residences, Sunway Serene and Sunway Velocity TWO. Likewise, the campaign extended to Sunway Property’s projects in Penang, and Sunway City Iskandar Puteri, Johor. To top things off, a heart-warming CNY video was filmed, building hype towards this year’s 100 Bliss Blanket (‘Bai Jia Bei’) theme.

3rd January 2022 – Johor Flood Aid Effort with Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC)

In the ongoing spirit of staying and caring for the community, Sunway City Iskandar Puteri, Sunway Big Box Mall and Sunway Hotel Big Box banded together to work with the Malaysian Red Crescent to assist with the flood relief efforts in Johor. The Sunway team in Johor donated RM10k and helped assemble 500 relief packs to be distributed to displaced Johoreans across the state, which included daily essentials, hygienic and sanitary products. A total of 12 volunteers came together to assist the flood victims.

6th January 2022 – Program Trafiesta: Traffic Management Contribution in Commercial

In a bid to understand the public’s sentiment on the traffic at Bandar Sunway Seberang Jaya, the ground concourse area of Sunway Carnival Mall was turned into a venue for Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai (MBSP) to conduct a public survey. The survey, in the form of questionnaires, were distributed to walk-ins at the mall and a map was displayed for their reference. Along with officers from MBSP, the event was overseen by Sunway Property’s Senior Project Managers of Sunway Carnival Mall’s expansion and Sunway Medical Centre Seberang Jaya.

10th January 2022 – Shooting for Sunway Group’s Chinese New Year Video: Soil for the Soul @ Sunway XFarms

As the Chinese proverb goes, “One who plants a garden, plants happiness.” Such was definitely the case in Sunway XFarms’ Chinese New Year video for Sunway Group, titled “Soil for the Soul”. The campaign sought to nurture the spirit of togetherness during CNY while featuring real stories from within Sunway. The narrative was inspired by one of Sunway XFarms’ special “Growners”, Yvonne Yeoh, who volunteered to help out at the farm. Doing so allowed her to understand how her food is grown, and equipped her with skills to start her own edible garden at home.

On 10th January 2022, the video shoot for “Soil for the Soul” took place at The Light Park KL. Sunway XFarms delivered over 64 seedlings, 64 young vegetables and 128 mature vegetables for the production of the video, which was published on 24th January 2022.

11th January-1st February 2022 – Prosperity Yee Sang

From 11th January to 1st February 2022, Sunway XFarms carried out a Prosperity Yee Sang campaign in collaboration with SpargoEats. Thanks to the beneficiaries at Generating Opportunities of Learning Disables (GOLD) Malaysia for assembling the yee sang, customers were able to invite wealth and prosperity for the Chinese New Year through the tossing of fresh ingredients supplied by Sunway XFarms, including pesticide-free lettuce and microgreens. Additionally, for customers who wished to give a fresh bag of vegetables to their family or friends, a special add-on promotion was offered for them to purchase an Asian + Salad Mix Happy Bag (750g) and 2 boxes of microgreens for only RM40.

January 2022 – Corporate & Regional Business Update Meetings 2022

In light of the new calendar year, Sunway Property held a virtual corporate Business Update Meeting (BUM) with the purpose of highlighting the company’s achievements in 2021 and announcing its 2022 business plan. Sarena Cheah, Managing Director of Sunway Property, extended her appreciation to the team, who conducted the general updates and Q&A session. Also on the agenda were announcements from HR, including Master Community Developer 2.0, Project Marketplace, and 2022 HR Key Initiatives. This was followed by regional meetings in the following days to share regional goals and directions with the respective teams.

16th January 2022 – New Year Fresh Start Yoga Session + Picnic with Wise Crafters @ Sunway Serene

After being confined to our homes for over a year, many have been seeking relief by being outdoors, especially to immerse themselves in nature and recharge. To meet these interests and provide a “fresh start” for the new year, Wise Crafters, together with Metta Studio, held a picnic and yoga session at Sunway Serene Sales Gallery. The 27 attendees were able to engage in unique activities to refresh and rejuvenate their minds, bodies, and souls by being out in the open as they shared the healing sounds via singing bowls, practiced meditation yoga, journaled and indulged in a healthy picnic. 10 lucky winners who submitted their names via Sunway Property Mobile App were also selected to participate in the event for FREE.

17th January 2022 – Media Briefing 2022 @ Sunway Serene

After a record year in 2021, Sunway Property held a media briefing with strict SOPs at Sunway Serene Sales Gallery to announce its plans for 2022. These included a RM2.2 billion sales target with 70% of its new launches in Malaysia, a masterplan of eight integrated wellness hubs across Malaysia’s high-growth regions, and the expansion of Sunway Property Pals+ to offer benefits to Sunway Property’s tenants and sub-sale communities.

The day led up to a grand unveiling of Sunway Property’s festive video and 100 bliss blanket or ‘bai jia bei’ sewn together by Komuniti Tukang Jahit in conjunction with the Chinese New Year campaign. The event was attended by Sarena Cheah, Managing Director of Sunway Property; Lum Tuck Ming, Deputy Managing Director of Sunway Property; Chong Sau Min, Executive Director for the Property Development Division of Central Region; and Gerard Yuen, Chief Brand & Marketing Officer of Sunway Property.

21st & 22nd January 2022 – CNY Bazaar @ Sunway GEO Avenue

Heightening the scale of Sunway’s Chinese New Year celebrations, Sunway GEO Avenue held a CNY Bazaar. Open to all members of the public, the aim of the bazaar was to amplify the excitement of welcoming the festive season by providing visitors an outlet to purchase arts and crafts items, gift boxes, CNY cookies and baked goods while they got to experience a guest appearance from the “God of Prosperity”. The event garnered a total of approximately 750 attendees across the two days of the bazaar.

22nd January 2022 – Sunway City Ipoh’s Chinese New Year Cheer 2022 @ Perak

Regardless of the threat COVID-19 has posed to the festive celebrations, Sunway City Ipoh persisted in spreading joy to children as part of their #SunwayForGood Festive Cheer initiative, while taking the opportunity to strengthen Sunway’s brand image in Ipoh.

The Sunway City Ipoh team donated RM2,000 and “back-to-school" essentials to three orphanage homes in Perak. Meanwhile, a total of eight participating orphanage homes across the state received more than 240 packed CNY meals, courtesy of Sunway Lost World of Tambun (LWOT).

Furthermore, Sunway City Ipoh held a virtual photo contest for students in primary and secondary schools across the eight orphanages, with winners for the best CNY attires being rewarded cash prizes totalling over RM6,500.
